The room was a little worn... the furniture has shown the wear of the football crowd as well as the beds.... they were air matresses and one was "low" the other flat.
Much improved since I last stayed there last year.
Elevators can be slow
It was a clean, comfortable room and had a good variety of hot and cold foods for breakfast. It was centrally located for activities we wanted to do and there was a nice selection of restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
Location was excellent. Lobby and room were comfortable.
The plumbing in my room (506) was in bad shape. The sink was sloping badly and pulling away from the wall. The toilet was cracked at the base which made it unstable. The tub drain was noisey. I tried to alert the the check out person at the front desk and she was not interested.
Great location for seeing a concert at John Paul Jones Arena. It was a short walk.
The bathroom definitely needs an update!
Having not been to the charlottesville area we choose simply based on the price and location and picture of the room. Being next to the campus, downtown and the mountains should make this a winner. However the air did not work. We moved to another room and the air quite during the eve. We also found a live stink bug in our bathroom. It is not a problem that the place is older. the photos on the wall give it charm and the cont. breakfast was good. No bugs and things need to work. I think that the allumni would agree.
location, free breakfast, Internet great for the money
I was looking for a nicer place to stay and within my limited budget. I just needed one night as I was on a business trip for a few days (paid by my employer) and I decided to extend my stay to see some of Charlottesville. So glad I did! The accommodations were nice...clean and comfortable. The setting was surprisingly quiet. The staff was extremely friendly and nice.
I would like to come again some time...no complaints!
Hotel was neatly placed by the tennis courts and football field in Charlottesville, which made it just a short and very pleasant five minute walk to the historic UVa buildings. Charlottesville was an absolutely great town, and it probably would have been even better if we'd had the time to take tours and really explore. The desk staff were helpful enough, but nothing more. Good parking facilitites, and the fifth floor room was good, with a terrific view as a bonus. Another bonus was the 'presidential like' colour scheme of the room, which was quite funny. Cleanliness was good. We could definately stay here again, if we ever were to come back.
Great value, very clean and great facilities.
A very convenient location for downtown restaurants and access to local points of interest eg; Monticello.
The lobby was attractive and in about 15 minutes we could walk to a lively area of the university community with many student-oriented restaurants. The room was well set up for use of one's computer, with a desk, convenient lighting and electrical contacts and free WiFi. There was a large parking lot.
The room was a bit faded in terms of decor and the exterior hallways leading to the rooms did not feel fully secure.
Location is excellent, staff very friendly, lovely lobby, free breakfast and internet. Fridge and microwave in room. Free parking.
I can't complain for the price. Just be aware this is a motel style place with entrances outside and the furniture is circa 1970s. It's clean and comfy but very basic and dated.
